Cookie policy

A cookie is a small piece of data sent from a website and stored in a user’s web browser while the user is browsing that website. Cookies are designed to make the web interaction run smoothly. When a website is visited for the first time, a cookie may be sent from that site and stored in the user’s browser. They can be temporary (session cookies) or for a fixed period (persistant cookies). They can come directly from the website being browsed (first party cookies) or from content or services provided by other organisations that are on the site (third party cookies) e.g. social networking links.

Session cookies

Session Cookies are stored only temporarily during a browsing session and are deleted from the user’s device when the browser is closed. The Consultancy Hub website is built using WordPress and uses these cookies to help the site function correctly.

Persistent cookies

This type of cookie is saved on your computer for a fixed period (usually a year or longer) and is not deleted when the browser is closed. Persistent cookies are used so that the next time the user browses the site, the site is able to recall the user’s previous activity and preferences. Currently these are not used on our website.

First party cookies

First party cookies are set by the website being browsed and they can only be read by that site. The Consultancy Hub website may use these cookies for tracking comments on our blog to ensure our site is not hacked or spammed.

Third party cookies

A website might use a third party analytics company who will set their own cookies to perform this service or it may contain content embedded from content sharing sites such as YouTube or Flickr, and these sites may set their own cookies. More significantly, a website might use a third party advertising network to deliver targeted advertising on their website which may have the capability to track users’ browsing preferences across different sites.

On the Hub IT website we are not part of any third party advertising network but some features may use cookies once you navigate away from this site to other sites such as:

  • Google Analytics
  • LinkedIn
  • AddThis
  • Facebook
  • Twitter
